Dr Wilandi Jacobs is a general surgeon specialising in minimally invasive, endoscopic, breast, endocrine, head and neck surgeries.
For over 12 years, Dr Wilandi rooted her practice in Cape Town, but is very pleased to expand her services to Emoyamed Bloemfontein.
“Growing up in the area, studying and specialising in Bloemfontein, I found a deep-rooted love for the Free State and its people and I’m very happy to return. As a surgeon compassionate about my patients and patient care, I am excited to join a smaller hospital group like Emoyamed, where a patient is not just a number but part of the family,” Wilandi says.
Dr Wilandi mentions that her journey stands as a testament to a career fuelled by patient wellness and a relentless pursuit of professional advancement in the ever-evolving field of surgery.
“I am dedicated to maintaining high standards by staying updated with both local and international trends in surgical management. I have always been passionate about bringing international advancements home, and after seven years of dedication, I am proud to announce that I was the first surgeon in South Africa to perform an Endoscopic Full-thickness Plication procedure for reflux (using GERD-X developed in Germany) and a pain-free haemorrhoidal procedure (eXroid from the UK).
“Although these are just two practical examples of the extraordinary work Dr Wilandi has achieved within her practice, her passion for her patients’ care drives her to continually seek better treatment options across a comprehensive range of general surgical procedures.
“I view surgery as an art form, reflecting my love for art in my approach to surgical procedures and my practice motto remains: “It is only good enough for the patient if it is good enough for your loved one.”
