As a Services Manager, Pamela (Pam) Tsoleli is known for her bright smile, her colourful attire, and her kind heart. After taking on a new position at Life Rosepark Hospital after 26 years in facilities management and banking environments, Pam was presented with a formidable challenge, one that she was ready to take on.
She started as a receptionist for an IT company before taking the role of an office administrator in a facilities management company. This is where she learnt the ins and outs of managing resources, coordinating teams, and ensuring everything ran smoothly behind the scenes.
“My passionate devotion to people. My integrity, unwavering commitment, and aspiration to effect meaningful change define my essence. I firmly believe that true leadership emanates from the heart and remains rooted in authentic values, allowing one to leave an indelible mark,” she says.
Pam took on roles such as Business Support Manager, Facilities Manager, Commercial Specialist, and eventually as the Services Manager at Life Rosepark Hospital.
“This new role demands proactive initiative and critical thinking. I must remain vigilant, as the pursuit of excellence and a deep sense of accountability are paramount. The hospital’s reputation and brand itself serve as constant reminders of the gravity of my responsibilities.”
Her story isn’t just about climbing the corporate ladder but more about perseverance, kindness, and transforming challenges into stepping stones. A task she cannot do alone. She says she owes her success to God. It is all by His grace that she has become the woman she is today.
“My life partner has consistently been a pillar of unwavering support throughout my professional journey. Aware of my workaholic tendencies, he often eases my burden and actively assists in raising our children, thereby enabling me to be a better wife, mother, and grandmother.”
Pam says she is inspired by the ability to create positive experiences while solving problems along the way. This means that she has to establish meaningful connections in order to learn how to serve people better, but boundaries are a crucial part of her success.
“I have learned the importance of setting boundaries; I delineate specific working hours and adhere to them, ensuring that my professional commitments do not encroach upon my personal life,” she says.
She makes sure to dedicate time for her family, hobbies, and self-care. “Life is too fleeting not to strive for balance and fulfilment,” she says.
Family gatherings and birthdays are occasions that are non-negotiable.
“When you find happiness and fulfilment at home, it certainly radiates into our professional and personal endeavours, enriching all facets of your existence. We arrange our schedules around these occasions, viewing them as opportunities to relax, forge meaningful connections, and rejuvenate the spirit,” Pam concludes.
