From balancing numbers as a chartered accountant to building connections through hospitality, Joanita Coetzee’s journey is rooted in purpose, passion and people.
For her, success has never been about numbers alone. As director of Futura Financial Services and owner of Lejit is, this chartered accountant combines expertise with a passion for bringing people together.
“I’ve always believed that numbers tell a story, but people are the heart behind every business,” she says.
That belief led her into accounting and hospitality, creating a space for people to connect and celebrate.
No two days look alike. Her mornings start with coffee, prayer and planning before client meetings, consulting and overseeing her practice, while managing her restaurant. “It keeps me busy, but I love the variety.”
Joanita says her people-first approach sets her apart. “I lead with integrity, authenticity and genuine care. I don’t just want people to succeed financially, I want them to feel supported, valued and empowered.”
“Taking the leap into business ownership changed everything,” she says. “It taught me resilience, courage and the importance of trusting God even when the path isn’t easy.”
She defines success as purpose, values and helping businesses grow. Faith remains her anchor. “Believe in yourself before anyone else does.”
Despite running two businesses, Joanita prioritises balance. “I’ve learnt that I can’t pour from an empty cup.”
She prefers sneakers, coffee with meaningful conversations, quality time with her loved ones and a beautiful sunset.
