6 tips to help you approach money differently this year

We are always chasing more…more time, more money, more stuff. This insatiable hunt for more creates a vicious cycle of stress and anxiety and feeds into the hustle culture we often get trapped in.

Use the fresh start to the new year as an opportunity to pause and rethink this rat race mindset and reset your relationship with money, by learning to look at what we have in abundance instead of worrying about what we think we are lacking.

Start by asking yourself these six questions:

  1. What are your dominant beliefs and thoughts about money?
  2. What were your parents’ dominant beliefs and how did they handle money?
  3. Do you treat money as a limited or as abundant resource?
  4. Do you believe money is good or bad?
  5. Do you believe you are truly worthy of being wealthy?
  6. Do you respect money and honour your commitments?

Use your above answers to help you understand your relationship with money. How were you brought up to perceive money and how does money move through your life, i.e. what you spend vs. what you earn. Once you have established this, you can start to mould and reshape your mindset to finances. Think about money as a supportive energy and reflect how you respond to this energy.
