Bringing Van Gogh’s story to life in a dazzling new light, actor Daniel Anderson seamlessly shifts between narrating and embodying the legendary artist himself in a captivating multimedia musical called Vincent – one not to be missed if you’re a lover of this great post-impressionist. Weaving together reimagined versions of musical theatre classics, pop, rock and jazz the production offers an intimate glimpse into Van Gogh thoughts and emotions. Do you have a loved one in a destructive or abusive relationship and feel unsure of how to support them? You don’t have to figure it out alone. Join internationally published author Lizanne Hattingh for an insightful and empowering session designed to equip family, friends, NGOs and community members with the understanding and tools to offer meaningful support. Drawing from her latest book Loved by Grace, Toward A Graceful Purpose, and from her personal journey, Lizanne speaks with sensitivity and clarity about the often-hidden struggles survivors face – and how we, as their support systems, can truly show up for them. The session will be held on Saturday, May 10 in Westville (TBA) at 10am. There’s no charge, but seats are limited.

A desert adventure …

This ones’ for cycling enthusiasts and adventure seekers! A reminder not to miss the Tanqua Kuru Bicycle Race that returns for the fifth time, challenging riders to push themselves to new heights while experiencing the beauty of the Karoo. Participants can choose between a challenging 113km route or a medium 59km route on the first day, followed by a 62km ride on the second day. In collaboration with Sling, a few lucky cyclists will have the chance to take aerial flips, providing a bird’s-eye view of the breathtaking landscape. Beyond the cycling, the race features unique festivities, including themed water points, premium hospitality, and the Bicycle Burn. The race will be held over the weekend of May 23 to 25. Art in the paddock

Art lovers can look forward to a feast of different works from local artists exhibiting at Fig Tree Farm at the Art in the Paddock Exhibition. Set on the lawns outside the cafe, more than 30 artists, including Shirley Howells, Annette Hadley, Sue Whitmore, Margie Currie, Portia Redmond, Val Sperryn, will display their artwork … sculptures and paintings done in oils, water colour, acrylics and inks, with a diversity of subject matter. The PONDO Trail Run is back for 2025, once again inviting trail runners to experience one of the world’s last untouched coastlines while making a tangible difference in conservation and community upliftment. Hosted by Wild Child Africa, this three-day event will see participants traverse the remote and rugged northern section of the Wild Coast – a region renowned for its dramatic cliffs, unspoiled beaches, and extraordinary biodiversity, with more than 150 plant species found nowhere else on earth. Beyond the adventure, the heart of this event lies in its fundraising efforts for the Pondoland Conservation Trust, which works to uplift Pondoland’s local community, and Cipla’s Miles for Smiles initiative, which funds life-changing corrective surgeries for children with cleft conditions. Taking place from May 28 to June 1, runners will gather at the Wild Coast Sun for registration, where there is also a drop-off for winter essential donations for the event’s Gift of Warmth initiative. Join them for an inspiring morning with an impressive speaker line-up featuring Dr Nadia Khan, Kgomotso Ndungane, Dr Sibu Lubelwana, Azande Ndebele, Cindy Norcott, Alwina Muggeridge, and Jane Linley Thomas, who will MC the event.
