More than just a race, the Totalsports Women’s Race is a celebration of resilience, community and hope. As South Africa’s premier Women’s Month event takes to Durban’s streets, thousands of women will gather in support of one another, many sharing powerful personal journeys of courage and cancer survival. With PinkDrive as the official charity partner, the event creates a space where stories are shared, victories are celebrated and encouragement is always in abundance. From first-time walkers to seasoned runners, participants come together in a show of strength and solidarity, united by the message that no one faces cancer alone. Participants can choose between a 5km or 10km route, with both starting and finishing at Suncoast Casino on Sunday, August 2. The 10km starts at 8am, followed by the 5km at 8.30am. South African music icon Arno Carstens will make his Hilton Arts Festival debut, performing alongside David Watkyns and Giovanni Serci as part of an exciting line-up at KwaZulu-Natal’s biggest arts festival. Now in its 34th year, the festival celebrates the very best of South African creativity with an inspiring programme of theatre, live music, comedy, visual arts, film and family entertainment, complemented by a vibrant Craft Market and Design & Makers Quarter. Celebrate Women’s Day with purpose at the Robin Hood Foundation’s Stand Strong, Shine Bright High Tea. Enjoy an inspiring morning of meaningful conversation, live entertainment, delicious treats and community spirit, while helping to uplift women in need. The programme features bestselling author Penny Haw, life coach Gaelyn Cokayne and MC Milan Comley, with music by René Tshiakanyi, lucky draw prizes and a Boho Chic dress theme adding to the occasion. Up Ahead

Nature gets a creative twist at Monster Alley, a family-friendly outdoor experience that uses imaginative monster sculptures, poetry and artwork to highlight the hidden threat of invasive alien plants. Wander through a self-guided Monster Hunt at your own pace, discovering colourful creations by local artists and school learners while learning how invasive species impact our natural environment. Educational talks will take place on both days for those wanting to delve deeper into the topic, with all donations supporting the conservation work of the Hillcrest Conservancy. Stand together in the fight against cancer at the Durban CANSA Relay For Life, a heartfelt community event celebrating hope, courage and resilience. Families, friends, schools and businesses are invited to form teams and take turns walking the track in support of those affected by cancer. The programme includes the inspiring Survivors’ Lap, the moving Luminaria Ceremony of Hope, live entertainment, food stalls and family-friendly activities, with funds raised supporting CANSA’s Mkhuhla Care Home. Visitors are encouraged to dedicate a luminaria bag in memory of a loved one or in celebration of a cancer survivor, helping to light the way with messages of hope and remembrance. Queen’s greatest hits come alive as Joseph Clark returns to Durban with The Music of Queen. Back by popular demand, the acclaimed performer will take audiences on a journey through the legendary band’s biggest anthems, including Bohemian Rhapsody, Somebody to Love, We Will Rock You, We Are the Champions and Another One Bites the Dust. Joining Joseph on stage are soprano Lizzy Phisane, guitarist Axe Lourens and local school choirs, making for a spectacular celebration of one of the world’s greatest rock bands. Celebrate the gift of life at Donor Tribute Day 2026, a moving annual gathering honouring the remarkable legacy of organ and tissue donors. Hosted by Hero777 and the Durban Transplant Co-ordinators, the event brings together donor families, transplant recipients, healthcare professionals and supporters to remember those who gave the ultimate gift, celebrate lives transformed through transplantation, and acknowledge the compassion of families whose decisions continue to offer hope to others.
