Blue Security Secures Double Diamond at 2025 PMR Africa Awards

Blue Security has achieved top honours at the prestigious PMR Africa Awards, earning two Diamond Arrow Awards for 2025: Best Security Company and the Company Doing the Most to Fight Crime in Kwa-Zulu Natal.

This marks the 15th time Blue Security has been honoured with a Diamond Arrow Award. This achievement reflects Blue Security’s continued commitment to protecting communities and addressing crime through strategic, technology-driven, and people-focused solutions.

Henk van Bemmelen, CEO of Blue Security, said the dual Diamond Arrow Awards represent more than accolades. “They speak to the trust our communities place in us, the commitment of our teams on the ground, and the importance of understanding what safety means on a street-by-street level. We are proud to be recognised again as the highest rated company in our sector and category.”

The PMR Africa Awards are based on independent research and public perception, with nominations made by community members. Companies cannot self-nominate. The awards are a reliable benchmark of excellence, evaluating leadership, effectiveness, innovation, service, and satisfaction.

Blue Security’s community-based approach has enabled sharper local focus. Each region is led by dedicated teams who actively engage with communities to identify risks and develop relevant responses. This model, paired with advanced technologies has helped drive several crime-prevention successes.

Van Bemmelen emphasised that the company’s progress is rooted in continuous improvement. “We operate on the belief that no two neighbourhoods are the same. Staying close to our customers helps us evolve with their safety needs. The recognition from the PMR Awards is a powerful affirmation that this approach is working.”

Blue Security has received recognition at the PMR Awards every year since 2006. From a Bronze Arrow that year to this year’s double Diamond, the company has consistently progressed, demonstrating resilience and relevance in a complex and shifting security landscape.

Blue Security will continue investing in both people and technology to stay ahead of evolving crime trends, without losing the human connection that defines its approach.

“Security must be personal, proactive, and professional,” van Bemmelen said. “We are proud to stand alongside the people of Durban and we thank them for standing with us.”
