This all-under-one-roof showcase brings together fresh concepts, global home technology, live entertainment and celebrity cooking demonstrations, alongside plenty of family-friendly fun. The Great Outdoors takes centre stage this year, with new tools, travel inspiration and gear for lovers of canvas and khaki, while DIY fans can explore the latest in hands-on innovation and practical design solutions. A strong local design focus also shines through, spotlighting emerging decorators and up-and-coming artists. Expect a vibrant atmosphere with music, food vendors, children’s activities and immersive experiences throughout, a lively destination for a day out with real lifestyle inspiration. Light Workers Unite will host its June Road Safety Campaign, themed “Christmas in June”, bringing the community together in support of local children and families in need. The evening takes place at Watercrest Mall, Mugg & Bean parking area, from around 6.30pm, where members of the public are invited to take part in a donation drive. A Christmas tree collection point will allow visitors to hang a teddy for a child in need, with blankets and shelf-stable food also welcomed for donation to local orphanages and shelters. Watercrest Mall will host a best-dressed competition, with participants encouraged to arrive dressed as their favourite hero, superhero or themed character. A variety of NPOs will also be present to receive additional support, alongside food and refreshments available for purchase, including boerie rolls, burgers, cooldrinks and coffee. The evening’s highlight will see a convoy of local emergency and rescue services, including ambulance teams, security companies, towing services, fire services, SAPS and Metro Police, arriving at around 7.10pm with lights and sirens. Don’t miss a powerful conversation aimed at connection, support and shared experience. The Working Class Talk, hosted by Sizakele Sibiya, founder of Incredible Moments, a 100% Black female-owned initiative brings together women from across industries to unpack the realities and challenges faced in the working world, particularly for those balancing multiple roles in everyday life. The focus is on shared experience, practical insight and collective strategies for navigating workplace pressures, recognising that while systems may not always shift quickly, support and knowledge can empower change on a personal level. Speakers include Thandi Sabelo, founder of The Working Class, and Gugu Mchunu, Head Supply, who will contribute to an open, solutions-driven dialogue designed to inspire connection and resilience. The event also offers a valuable networking space for women across all sectors, encouraging honest conversation and professional growth in a supportive environment. With entries capped at 12,500, the iconic SPAR Women’s Challenge Durban 10/5km, now in its 36th year, invites women of all ages and abilities to take part in a vibrant celebration of fitness, community and empowerment along Durban’s Golden Mile. Participants can choose between a scenic 5km fun run or a 10km race, with the 10km starting at 8am and the 5km at 9am at the Hollywoodbets Kings Park Stadium. Whether chasing a personal best or enjoying a relaxed walk with friends, the event offers a welcoming, uplifting atmosphere under this year’s theme #CelebrateHer, honouring the strength and journeys of every participant. Gather colleagues, friends, clubs or family and enter as a team for an even bigger shared experience. Teams are encouraged to dress up, wear matching outfits, and add to the energy on the day, with Race Director Brad Glasspoole highlighting the spirit of togetherness that defines the event. Beyond the run, R5 from each entry supports this year’s charity, iThemba Lethu, helping to empower and nurture young lives. Finishers will receive a medal and goodie bag. A reminder not to miss Durban’s opening leg of the Totalsports Women’s Race, a standout Women’s Month celebration bringing thousands of women together in a shared spirit of fitness, unity and empowerment. The event transforms the city streets into a vibrant showcase of energy, colour and community, with participants of all levels taking part across both running and walking distances. Durban sets the tone for the national series, creating a powerful atmosphere where Women’s Month is brought to life on the move. Participants can choose between 10km and 5km routes, both starting and finishing at Suncoast Casino, Durban. The 10km starts at 08h00, followed by the 5km at 08h30, with entry fees set at R155 for the 10km and R120 for the 5km. A temporary licence fee of R60 applies where required. Beyond the finish line, the Totalsports Women’s Race proudly continues to support PinkDrive, making a real difference in the fight against breast cancer.
