3 natural DIY detox face masks to try

Take a morning for yourself this weekend and give your skin a break from make-up and a boost in all-natural goodness by trying out a DIY detox face mask.

Before applying a mask, drape a towel over your head above a bowl of recently boiled water for about 10 minutes to open your pores. This will allow the mask’s ingredients to penetrate the pores and extract as many impurities as possible.

Now, choose one of our fave DIY detox face masks from Faithful to Nature, put your feet up and enjoy the calm:

Chocolate Coffee Mask

The coffee grounds scrub away dead skin cells, and caffeic acid is said to boost collagen levels.

You’ll need:

  • 1 teaspoon of instant coffee/ coffee grounds
  • 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • Plain yoghurt (to make a smooth paste)

Combine the ingredients and apply the mask, leaving it on for 15 minutes before rinsing off with warm water to reveal beautiful, glowing skin.

Oat and Vinegar Mask

Perfect for winter, the warm mask is soothing, and the apple cider vinegar is said to have antibacterial properties:

You’ll need:

  • 3 tablespoons of rolled oats
  • ¼ cup of hot water
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar

Mix everything together, and apply the mask while it is still warm. Leave on for 15 minutes before rinsing off with warm water for soft, smooth skin.

Honey Coconut Mask

The bentonite clay draws out impurities from your skin, while the honey and coconut oil will leave your skin moisturised and soft to the touch.

You’ll need:

  • 1 teaspoon of coconut oil
  • ½ tablespoon of raw honey
  • 2 tablespoons of bentonite clay

Leave the mask on for about 15 minutes and remove with warm water or a damp cloth for refreshed skin.
