Not even the pouring rain dampened the spirits of the lively crowd that attended the book launch of Life Stories of Women in Academia by Professor Sanja Bauk. Held at Ike’s Books and Collectables, it was MC’d by one of Durban’s legends in bookselling, Cedric Sissing, who read enticing snippets from the book to whet appetites. The book, co-authored by Margaret Masuku and Penny Orton, is an inspiring collection of stories written by professors and lecturers, across the world, highlighting the value of education and the changes to studying brought about by Covid-19.
