A little dose of meditation to bring healing and spiritual growth

Durban’s Buddhist Society will host Tibetan monk Chamtrul Rinpoche, who will be giving a series of lectures and teachings across KZN during March.

Having entered monastic life at the age of 14, Chamtrul Rinpoche has received the highest cycles of teaching, empowerment and transmissions from more than 25 qualified masters and scholars from India and Tibet.

Since 1996, he has been teaching at Buddhist institutes in India and across the world, including the ZKL Nyingma Monastery in Dharamsala where he taught regularly for 10 years.

This year, he will give teachings and host retreats in 17 countries, including South Africa (for the 13th time).

If you’re looking to find gentle ways to help you deal with inner emotions or keen to discover the remarkable world of nocturnal meditation, here’s a list of events this respected Tibetan monk will be hosting.

 

    • March 22 from 10am to 11.30am – Talk on “Finding Happiness in Troubled Times” at the Eagle’s View Yoga Studio, Gillitts
    • March 23 from 7pm to 8.30pm – Discussion on how to deal with anger and anxiety, at St Michael’s Church, uMhlanga
    • March 24 to 26 – Dream Yoga Retreat at the Buddhist Retreat Centre in Ixopo. Booking is essential. Details: www.brcixopo.co.za
    • March 27 from 7pm to 8.30pm – Talk on how to prepare for a meaningful death and rebirth, at Gillitts Hall.
    • March 28 from 6pm to 8pm – Taking vows and Chenrezig Practice at CK Services, Westville.

There is no charge for any of the talks, but donations are welcome.
