Don’t miss Clansthal Conservancy’s Autumn Craft Market.  Visitors can enjoy a relaxing Sunday morning in a beautiful garden with magnificent sea views, while browsing loads of stalls offering a range of crafts, clothing, décor and artisanal food. There will be live music, making the experience and atmosphere that much more enjoyable. Get there early for breakfast and stay for lunch. The market takes place from 9am to 2pm at the delightful home of Keith and Liz Cunningham, 111 Pig & Whistle Drive, Clansthal. Supporters of exciting schoolboy rugby are set to score at this year’s Kearsney Easter Rugby Festival promising thrilling match-ups between some of SA’s top-ranked rugby schools and the current ACE League champions from the UK. Glenwood, Westville, DHS and hosts Kearsney College will represent KZN, with two powerhouse teams from Gauteng – Monument and Dr EG Jansen.  Returning to the festival are Hoërskool Noord-Kaap from Kimberley, with strong Eastern Cape teams Framesby, Dale College and Marlow. Newcomers are Worcester Gimnasium from the Western Cape and Hartpury College from the UK. All the rugby action takes place over the Easter weekend. Don’t miss the disco revival that is The Bee Gees Night Fever tribute show hitting Durban shores this month. Produced by Showtime Australia – the team behind last year’s hugely successful Queen: It’s a Kinda Magic tour – the international show brings together the voices of Australia’s Zac Coombs and South Africans André Behnke and Warren Vernon-Driscoll who recreate the iconic harmonies of the Bee Gees siblings alongside a live band … all the disco dance floor fillers, 70s ballads and 60’s pop you can imagine at Sibaya Casino’s Izulu Theatre. Handel’s choral masterpiece, Messiah, the world’s best loved oratorio, returns triumphantly to The Playhouse Opera on Easter Sunday. The semi-staged production, which has become a landmark event on the Playhouse calendar over the past decade, will be accompanied by the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Jeremy Silver. Directed by Ralph Lawson, the production will be graced by leading South African soloists, Ondelwa Sisanda Martins, Jacobi Benkenstein, Luther Sakhumzi Martins and Bongani Kubheka, as well as The Playhouse Chorale. Tickets to the performance at 3pm are R150 each and available through Webtickets. Also at the Playhouse this Easter… a free Sundowners after-work concert in the Grand Foyer on April 14 featuring the Umvivi Performing Arts group and Senzo Mdaba as well as the much-loved Passion Play which runs from April 4 to 14 in the Drama Theatre. Tickets for Peppa Pig’s Perfect Day are selling faster than you can say “muddy puddles” and we can bet our last buck that little fans are counting the sleeps till they see Peppa Pig and George Pig together with all their special friends including favourites Candy Cat & Rebecca Rabbit embark on a fantastical adventure in the biggest international children’s theatre show to hit SA shores in 2023! From space rockets to starfish, exploding bubbles to Bing Bong singalongs, the show will have fans laughing, cheering and dancing. There’s a very special pink carpet premiere on Friday, April 21, and for those lucky enough, a limited number of meet and greet vouchers are available. It’s on at Suncoast on Friday April 21 at 7pm, Saturday April 22 at 10am and 7pm and Sunday April 23 at 10am. It’s 80 minutes long with a 20-minute interval.
