A delight for the senses

If you haven’t experienced it yet, you should. The culinary adventures of Le Petit Chef: Au Naturel, are enough to send you straight to a place perfectly aligned to those who are seekers of taste tales of gastronomic gallantry – an experience rather than a meal. Described as date night on steroids and a bucket-list experience, a meal with Le Petit Chef is an unmissable sensory extravaganza.

From the earth to your table, ingredients are transformed, with French style, into dishes that will boggle your mind and ensnare your senses. This one-of-a-kind dinner party experience comes to Radisson Blu Hotel in Umhlanga, until the end of June, and will see our favourite flirtatious Frenchman pop up in all his pint-sized glory, to take you on a sumptuous six-course culinary adventure, as he forages for the freshest home-grown ingredients, trawls the ocean, tends to his roosts, pastures for the most succulent cuts of meat and finally, heads for the Arctic in search of the perfect dessert to thrill your tastebuds. It’s a whimsical evening with engaging animation that blends seasonal and fresh dishes while showcasing the story behind each course in a way that amazes and delights.

The event runs until the end of June. Tickets cost R1295 each. Wine pairing is an additional R375 to R400. Child-friendly shows are available for Sunday lunches from 1pm to 4pm (five years and up) with all other shows (strictly for adults and children over the age of 12) from 7pm to 10pm. Details: Book at Computicket or visit dinnertimestories.co.za

Sho! It feels like we just hosted the Comrades and it’s back again for its 48th down run, starting in Pietermaritzburg and ending in Durbs. Since we’re massive fans, we’ll be watching this larger-than-life event from the roadside – bacon and eggs sizzling on the skottel and coffee in hand – and cheering on our local runners. Those with family or friends taking part, can track their real-time progress on race day by downloading the official Comrades Marathon App.
