In the heart of Hillcrest, the William Gillitts Sports ground has been home to the Hillcrest Sports Club for 95 years. In celebration of the club’s birthday an open day was recently presented, and the grounds were a buzz with hundreds of members and the community enjoying the sunshine and facilities the club offers. The day kicked off with a 4km fun run and walk and included everything from bowls and tennis-socials to fun parents and players five-a-side football matches, a huge inflatable zone for kids, ice cream, flame-grilled food and live music by local songbird Carmen Rodrigues.
