Elmarie van Coller, principal of elmarie van Coller Properties, believes she owes the success of all her business ventures to her father, who was a very successful businessman.
By working in real estate, Elmarie feels she can be herself and live her dream to serve people to the fullest. What makes her successful is her positive attitude, enthusiasm to go the extra mile and always being open to expanding. “I am an auctioneer, and that is a valuable extension of my business.”
This powerhouse is also the owner of a business which supplies products to more than 500 shops in South Africa. She is a firm believer that there should be a balance between work and family. “Family is very important as they are also your support system. They play a vital role in your successes but they also understand the importance of your business.”
When she is not at work, she enjoys going out into nature. “Walk, get your head clean, and recharge yourself.” The best place for her to be is out in nature, enjoying her miniature horses.
Elmarie has worked hard. As she says, “I worked as every day was my last day.” Thus her advice, “We should stay focused, don’t look at the pandemic and it’s negativity – strive to look at the future.”
The best way for Elmarie to live your life is to be yourself, be humble, loyal, enthusiastic and honest at all times. “You will always have pressure and challenges, but the outcome is in your own hands. The way you handle it matters. Don’t let challenges overcome you; overcome them. Be the overcomer.”
Her tip to young businesswomen is to always be confident, love yourself, be yourself, work hard and know that your strength come from the Provider. Live life to the fullest.
